Help & FAQ

Disability should never be an obstacle to enjoying the same quality of life as everyone else. That's why it's important to know and understand your options when it comes to getting public reimbursement.

The public subsidy for the purchase of adapted clothing is an important way to ensure that everyone has equal access to quality products and aids, regardless of their abilities. The application process itself is not very complicated. Of course, you need to provide evidence of the assistive device you want and the need for it, but other than that, it is a relatively simple process.

Who can apply?

You can contact the municipality by phone or e-mail. This is just as valid as going via borger.dk:

Danish Service Act - Public Subsidies

In Denmark, the Danish Act on Social Services describes two possible grants:

  • Section §41: the local council must provide coverage of necessary additional expenses for home care for a child under 18 years of age with a significant and permanent physical or mental impairment or an intrusive chronic or long-term disorder.
  • Section §112: the local council must provide support for assistive devices for persons with permanently impaired physical or mental disability.

Other European Countries

Other European countries also have social policies for helping disabled people buying special adaptive clothing or equipment.
